1. The editor became a pair, not a tool
Autocomplete grew into collaboration. The practical shift:
- Instead of typing every line, I describe an intended change and review a working diff.
- The scarce skill moved from writing code fast to knowing what to build and how to verify it.
- Sloppy verification is now a bigger project risk than slow typing ever was.
For buyers, this means small projects ship faster, but the difference between a careful developer and a careless one shows up sooner.
2. AI agents started reading your website — for real
Assistants and crawlers now fetch and summarise sites to answer buyer questions. If your content is buried in client-side scripts, agents silently skip you.
